General instructions for technical control

The periodic technical inspection is mandatory for all cars that have received a traffic permit from the competent Service of the Ministry of Transport

Severe penalties are provided for cars that are in circulation without a valid Technical Inspection card.

Cars are presented for inspection according to the date:

issuing the first Traffic Permit for new vehicles or
of the next check listed in the D.T.E. (Technical Inspection Bulletin)

The vehicle when presented to the K.T.E.O. it must be clean inside and out and especially where the chassis and engine numbers are engraved.

If any change to the main characteristics of the vehicle permitted by the current provisions has been made, the owner must, before the technical inspection (by the KTEO), legalize it by his actions at the competent Transport & Communications Service, which has been issued its marketing authorization.
